Men’s Ministries 2011

The Men’s Fellowship Ministry group is an active and vibrant cog in the life of Abundant Life United Pentecostal Church.

Our fellowship breakfasts offer a relaxed and informal setting for members, guests and visitors. We gather by 8:45 am on the last Saturday morning of each month.  We often have a guest speaker from within our section.  Guest speakers are encouraged to expand on their unique perspective and personal ministry contributions within our fellowship.

Our leadership team has made a conscious effort to include the “young men” of our congregation. It’s a great time for fathers, sons and grandsons. We don’t attach any age restrictions on either end of the scale. Our goal is to include every male within our extended church family.

In September 2009 our group embarked on the sponsorship of our “1st Annual” motorcycle rally – “Cruzin’ for Christ” – as a venue to raise funds to purchase a motorcycle for missionaries throughout the world. We had 6 bikers and 8 participants at that rally. After our breakfast meal, the participants participated in a run to the spectacularly scenic Fundy Trail. Bro & Sis Nick Sisco, missionaries to Ghana, were chosen to receive the financial benefit from our rally.

August 2010 saw a threefold expansion of this event. “2nd Annual” had a total of 18 motorcycles from New Brunswick & Maine and 24 participants. Many bikers were “2 Up” as spouses, kids and friends participated in a 300 km run to visit with the churches in Salisbury and Riverview. The group then continued their ride to the Bay of Fundy and through the Fundy National Park. An evening meal was hosted at ALUPC with many church members also in attendance. Participation pins were awarded to each biker.  “Cruzin’ for Christ – 2010” was a financial success and at our November 2010 meeting, we were able to present Bro Sisco with a cheque to cover the purchase of three motorcycles to be used by missionary team members in Ghana.

“3rd Annual” is scheduled for 27 August 2011. Please stay tuned to this site for a “Rider Sponsorship” download form, registration information and documents.

In 2011, our men will meet on a monthly basis, (2nd Tuesday at 7:00pm) for “Men – Called to Pray”. The church is open for a time of prayer and personal contemplation and is open for any Fellowship member or guest.

We’re always open to visiting with other men’s fellowship groups within the district.

Check with our online church calendar for postings and times of other Men’s Ministry events.

The director of Men Ministry at ALUPC is Bro Dave McLeod. Dave can be contacted by e-mail through our webmaster.
